Weekly Golf Report - 13/10/24
Greetings to all as you now have a new scribe assisting in the publishing department so hang on for the ride. All criticism accepted but you know the drill if too much turns up.
Saturday Golf:
In what was a great day for golf at the weekend which saw some good scores as well as some not so good scores.
Saturday’s event was stableford.
In A grade the Rushworth bandit Kelly Cheong was the winner with a good score of 40 points from Dylan Gallivan with 38.
In B Grade Des Partington, returning for a fair time off, won with 38 points from Paul Dickens 36.
Ball winners went to Jonty Sefton 37 ,Lawrie Casey 37,Nic Casey 36 ( father /son effort ) Kevin Humbert 36 ,Michael Gallivan 35, Alan Hausler 35 and Paul Kuiper 34 in a 7 way countback.
Nearest the pins were Nic Casey, A grade and Paul Dickens, B grade.
In the ladies Robyn Curnow saluted the judge with 36 points from Wendy Cox 35 .
Helen Armstrong picked up a nearest the pin.
Tuesday’s event saw Gordon “ the Golfer “ Mackay take A grade with 35 points on a countback from Kevin Bauerle also with 35.
B grade went to Bud Thorsen 33 points in an epic battle with Lindsay Tatterson 32 points.
Ball winners for the day were John McHale 34,Ray Falla 33,David Collins 33 and Steve March 31.
Ray Falla also picked u nearest the pin.
Next week’s event is a 2 person Ambrose sponsored by Terry White Pharmacy .If you are looking for a partner there is a list at the club or contact Alan Hausler.
The club also recognises the recent passing of Peter Wright ,a Past president and long standing member of Valley view.

Ladies Golf Report : It was President’s Day for Valley View Women last Wednesday with President Judy Greer sponsoring the day.
Players enjoyed a Stableford round with a twist as there was a draw for partners after the event. Shirley Soares was pleased that her excellent round was complemented by a very good round from Sharon Harrison who was drawn as her partner, as they were declared the winners. Tracey Wade and Jan McHale were the next best pair, thus claiming the runners up prize.
Nearest the pins went to Tracey Wade in A Grade and Helen Armstrong in B Grade.
Members enjoyed a delicious lunch together and it was lovely to welcome players who have been out of action on the course for some time.
