Weekly Roundup 2/7/23

SATURDAY: Gavon ‘The Incredible Hulk” Armstrong is the July Monthly Medalist after easily out-performing the rest of the field in Saturday’s medal round.

Gavon shot a round of 91-21-70 to take out both the medal and B grade by a comfortable three shot margin from B grade runner up Nigel Dow who had a round of 92-19-73.

Gavon also added the B Grade best gross score medal to his medal trophy.

At his post round press conference Gavon attributed his win to an improved putting performance with a three-putt free round – a most un-Hulk like effort - and we look forward to him exploding out of his medal shirt in a few weeks’ time.

Kevin Bauerle took out A grade with a round of 88-13-75 by one shot from Rod Breen whose round of 89-13-76 was good enough to earn him the runner’s up trophy in a countback from Miles Gould with 83-7-76, the best gross round of the day.

It was also a three-shot margin in the ladies’ event with Jenni Bauerle the winner with 94-17-77 from Helen Armstrong with 104-24-80 on a good day for the Armstrong family.

Jenni’s 94 off the stock also won her the best gross score ball.

Ball comp winners were Miles Gould (Nett 76), Brad Edwards (77), Gordon Mackay (77), Peter Mangan (79), Pooch McHale (79) and David “Navman” Collins (79).

Paul Kuiper won the A grade nearest the pin ball on the 3rd, Tom Holman took the A grade NTP on the 12th and added the voucher on the 15th to his haul, Nat McAuliffe won the ladies NTP on the 12th but the B grade NTP trophies went begging with none able to hit either green.
