Weekly Roundup - 22/10/23
SATURDAY: The scores from Saturday’s Par event were once again a mixed bag.
Peter Sherman blew the B grade field away with the best score of the day of +5 and finished two shots in front of runner up Bud Thorsen’s score of +3.
In A grade Debonair David Collins posted a round of +2 finishing just one shot clear of Daryl Harrison who had +1.
Two up was also the winning number in the ladies’ event and that score belonged to Marlene Topp.
Toppy was a runaway winner from Sharon Harrison and Clare Kerr who finished someway back with scores of -5 with Sharon taking out the countback for runner up.
Ball comp winners were Les Hall with +1, Paul Kuiper (+1), Wil Harrison (-1), Rod Breen (-1), Laurie Radley (-1) and Kerry Kreeck (-1).
Mick Gallivan (3rd) and Gordon Mackay (12th) were Nearest the Pin winners in A Grade, Wendy Cox and Mel Dyson won the ladies NTP balls on the 3rd and 12th respectively, Ash Kuiper won the voucher on the 15th but it was a bad day for the B graders on the par three holes with none finding any of the targets.
TUESDAY: Pooch McHale took out another Tuesday A grade winner’s trophy with a 39 point round and finished two shots ahead of Daryl Harrison who took away the first of his runner’s up vouchers for the week with 37 points.
Neville Vicary was a one-shot winner in B grade with 38 points from a clearly in form Peter Sherman with 37 points.
Bud Thorsen (36 points), Kelly Cheong (36), Ron Dixon (34), Geoff Squires (33) and Geoff Strachan (33) all won balls.
Les Hall won the voucher on the 15th while Daryl Harrison played a super golf shot to within a foot of the pin on the 3rd before (so my notes tell me) making a comfortable bogey!!
Once again, the B grade nearest the pin trophy stayed with the club.
