Weekly Report 21/5/2023

A mid-week Match & Handicap call to defer the scheduled Wally Shaw event for one week saw our members and visitors contest a Stableford event on Saturday and while the temperature was rather cool the scoring was hot, especially in the ladies’ event.

Marie Watt was in red hot form with 41 points, with three scoreless holes if you don’t mind, and was a one-shot winner from a very unlucky runner up in Vonnie Morris who would have been a comfortable winner most weeks with 40 points. Ditto Trudy Denham who had to settle for a ball with a score of 38 points.

Lockington’s Frank Broucek seems to like our course and he took home another winner’s trophy with 37 points finishing three shots clear of Lawrie Casey who claimed the runner’s up trophy in a count back from Peter Mangan with 34 points.

Alan Hausler, Tracey Wade and Bev Lyon all picked up balls with 33 points in a field affected (size wise) by the wintery weather and a contingent of members on tour in Tasmania.

Alan Hausler (Nearest the Pin 3rd), Tracey Wade (3rd) and Miles Gould (15th) were the only success stories on the par three holes.

The best round from our male members came on Tuesday with Kevin Bauerle’s 40 points seeing him home in A grade from Kelly Cheong with 36.

Danny Sinclair was the B grade winner with 37 points from Ron Dixon with 33 points.

Ball comp winners were Daryl Harrison (35 points), Graeme Harrison (34). Mick McAuliffe (33) and Rory Kerr (33).

Daryl Harrison also picked up the A grade nearest the pin ball on the third.

As noted above the Wally Shaw 4B Aggregate Stableford event will now be held this Saturday.
