Weekly Roundup 28.5.23
SATURDAY: For the second year in a scoring was on the light side in the Wally Shaw 4 Ball Aggregate Stableford event.
One pairing that bucked the trend however was the sister act of Leanne Busch and Jenni Bauerle who combined brilliantly to produce what was easily the day’s best score of 72 points to take out the ladies’ event.
Leanne clearly had a very good day as, in a field of uneven numbers, she was also paired with Shirly Soares and they picked up the runner’s up trophy with 62 points in a count back from Marlene Topp and Bev Lyon.
In the men’s event John Burrows and David Collins put together a round of 63 points and the found themselves as the winners in a count back from Alan Hausler and Alan Curnow.
The ladies dominated the ball comp with Toppy and Bev Lyon picking up balls after missing out in the countback along with Marie Watt and Jan McHale with 61 points, Julie Neale and Sharon Harrison (60) and Helen Emery and Judy Greer (60).
David Collins (3rd), Justin Baker (12th), Trudy Denham (3rd), Clare Kerr (12th) and Rory Kerr (15th) picked up the Nearest the Pin trophies.
On Tuesday Rochester’s Frank Broucek had yet another win taking out A grade with 35 points from Kelly Cheong and Graeme Harrison with 34 with Kelly taking out the count back for runner up.
Alan Hausler was the B grade winner with 35 points in a count back from Jim Hind while balls went to Graeme Harrison (34), Daryl Harrison (34), Gary Jury (31), Michael Sheehan (31) and Pooch McHale (31).
Nearest the Pin trophies went to Kelley Cheong and Jeff Carnie (3rd) while Ron Dixon won the voucher on the 15th.
This Saturday’s event is the June Monthly Medal with assembly at 1130am.
