Weekly Golf Report 30.6.24

Saturday’s rain meant only a small field of hardy members turned out for the scheduled Stableford event.

In fact, there were almost as many bodies seeking the refuge of the duty office than actually teed up to play.

Subsequently we will start with Tuesday’s event where a red to Kevin Bauerle took out A grade with 40 points, finishing five shots ahead of Paul Kuiper, Peter Blackmore and Rich River’s Stephen Harris who all handed in cards with 35 points in the score box.

Kuip’s 35 points just a shade better than the others, getting him the nod for runner up in countback.

Safe to say KB won’t be returning to B grade for quite a while.

Ron Dixon took out B grade with 37 points from John Burrows and Geoff Strachan with 33 points each, the countback going JB’s way.

Balls went to the aforementioned Peter Blackmore and Stephen Harris along with David Collins, Pooch McHale and Gordon the Golfer Mackay who each had 34 points.

Nearest the Pin trophies went to Peter Blackmore and Gary Jurey (3rd) and Graeme Harrison (15th).

Back to Saturday’s round and with only one grade Pooch McHale took home the winner’s trophy with 35 points from Paul Kuiper with 34 points while Lawrie Casey picked up the only ball on offer with 32 points.

Ash Kuiper (3rd) and Lawrie Casey (15th) picked up NTP trophies.

Our Pennant team went down Cobram at Numurkah on Sunday though the result was much closer than the 4-1 scoreline would suggest.

Gordon the Golfer (aka Pompy) won his match 2&1 while Laurie Radley and David Collins both lost narrowly with 1 down results.

Mick Gallivan and Paul Dickens also lost their matches.
