Weekly Golf Report - 20/10/24
Saturday’s event saw a two person Ambrose ,sponsored by Terry White Pharmacy, hit the course. Fresh from the rains nobody could blame the course but generally it is some other factor the influences the game other than the bozo at the end of the club.
The Ladies saw a win to Vonnie Morris and Wendy Cox with a net 78.25 from Bev Lyon and Sharon Harrison with net 80.25.
In the Men Paul Kuiper and Rob Geisler lead the way with net 67 in a close tussle from Ash Kuiper and Graeme “ Henry Buck “ Harrison with 67.25.
Runners up all around in the Harrison household.
Nearest the pins were Paul Kuiper ,Alan Curnow and Natalie “ Fair weather golfer “ McAuliffe.
Ball winners were Alan Hausler, Bud Thorsen, Jeff “Cobber “Carnie, Kevin Humbert, Gordon Mackay and Kev Bauerle with scores around 71/72.
Tuesday’s event saw Gordon “The golfer “ Mackay take the win in A grade with 37 points in a countback from David Collins.
B Grade’s winner was Ian “ Tom “ Scurrah with 41 points from Bud Thorsen with 40 Points .Good to see the B Graders with better results than the A grade gentry.
Nearest the pins went to Glenn Laity ,Mick Coyne and Ron Dixon.
Ball winners were Paul Kuiper 36,Kelly Cheong 35,Ron Dixon 35, Kevin Humbert 34,John McHale 34 ,Geoff Strachan 34 and Dennis Hardie 34.
Last week ,as a newcomer scribe, we missed the all very important chicken run which started with day light saving. The first round taken by Ash Kuiper from Johnny “ The prodigal son “ Heywood
Then Thursday’s event taken by Graeme “ Henry Buck “ Harrison from Paul Dickens. Strange to see the organising committee greet the judge.
Overall a good time of year for our great game ,there can be no excuses.
This week’s tip “.You don’t need to be able to count to play golf ,someone will do it for you.”
