MIDWEEK PENNANT
Our match against Deniliquin RSL was a tough encounter.
Bev Lyon’s rink of Marilyn West, Kerri Savva and Kevin Broadhurst had a good battle with T Tontas team. Bev’s team were down by 10 shots, 6 to 16 after 13 ends, but they managed to match the Deni’s team of 6 shots over the remaining 8 ends to go down 22 to 12 after the final end.
Helen Emery skipped for Helen Armstrong, Marlene Topp and Rae Hann against C Taylor’s rink. Holding their own after 8 ends, Valley View trailed by only 2 shots. The Deni team then applied the pressure picking up 28 shots to 5 over the last 13 ends to run away winners 35 to 11.
Skipper Leanne Busch, with Jenni Bauerle, Nance Saunders and Anne Churches played L Harris’s rink. Deni got off to a big lead of 24 shots to 4 in the first 16 ends, and they also picked up 13 more shots to 2 over the last 5 ends to claim the win 37 to 5.
Deniliquin RSL run out winners 94 to 28.

SATURDAY PENNANT
At home hosting Tongala we didn’t have the overall result we were hoping for.
Two rinks up and one down and a deficit of 17 shots. 53 to 70.
Ken Black skipped for Kevin Broadhurst, Dave Clavell and Graeme Topp, up against the rink of K Hansen the Valley View team had a good win 20 to 14.
The rink led by stand in skip Leanne Busch, with Peter Lyon, Frank Findlay and Rob Varcoe were well please with their win 24 to 13 over P Kessons rink. The rink led by Rod Donohue, with Bob Greenaway, Ken Hastie and Lenny Wiseman found the rink led by R Hosking far too good only picking up 9 shots to 43.
Next week we are at home again against Stanhope.
