Weekly Golf Report 15/9/24

Saturdays Event – A back to winter southerly blast could not hinder an intrepid field to compete in this week’s stableford event. We had a group of visitors from Rich River join us and one of the crew, Andrew Marr shot the best score of the day with 39 points to take out B Grade and in a countback for runner up Geoffrey Strachan nudged out Bud Thorsen both with 36 points.

A Grade scores were very disappointing with the winner’s prize going to Peter Blackmore with 33 points and runner up was Ash Kuiper 31 points.

The ladies event was won by Jan McHale with 36 points after a short break with runner up being decided on a count back from Von Morris and Jenny Bauerle with 33 points and Von took home the chocolates.

Nearest the pin results – 3rd A Grade – Ash Kuiper, ladies – Jenny Bauerle. The 12th went begging for all grades.

Bud Thorsen claimed nearest the pin on 15th and sank his putt for birdie.

Ball comp winners were Bud Thorsen 36, John Burrows 34 and Jenny Bauerle and Neil Orchard (Rich River) with 33 points.

Tuesdays event saw a very good field and excellent results but none better than Ron Dixon who scored 44 points to take out B Grade from Nev Vicary on 41 points. A Grade was a closer contest with Gordon (the golfer) Mackay living up to his title scoring 38 points to win from Kevin Bauerle 37 in a count back from Peter Blackmore.

Nearest the pin winners – 3rd – A Grade – Peter Blackmore, B Grade – Ian Scurrah.

Nearest the pin on 15th was Ken McAsey.

Ball comp winners were Steve March 38, Peter Blackmore 37 & Alan Hausler 36.

This coming Saturday’s event will be stableford with 11.30 assembly for noon tee off.
