Ladies Golf Report - 2/11/23

Last week was a busy week for Valley View's women golfers. Thursday was our Lally Gold Watch day and we were pleased to welcome 60 golfers from across the Goulburn Murray for a 4B Aggregate Stableford event. Our thanks to James and Anne Lally for their continued support of this event and our Club.
With the excellent combined score of 74 nett, Shireen Moore and Maureen McMinn from Shepparton were the proud winners of the gold watches. Valley View pair, Sharon Harrison and Wendy Cox were runners up with 69 points. Nearest the pins went to Rosalie Drill from Rich River, Julie Leahy from Rochester and Maureen Dickson from Shepparton. Balls down the line were won by Leanne Busch and Judy Greer from Valley View and Sonia Verlinden and Nancy Dunn from Nathalia with 66 points, Veronica Irving and Edna Lloyd from Cobram with 65 points and Marie Watt and Marg Smerdon from Valley View with 64 points.

WEDNESDAY: A small field played Stableford on Wednesday. Wendy Cox returned to form to win with 35 points. Pleasingly, her good form continued on Thursday in the Gold Watch 4Ball. Helen Armstrong was runner up with 34 points.
On Monday the October 30th, the third round of Summer pennant was played. Valley View remains undefeated after having a bye in the first round, a square against Numurkah in the second round in Shepparton and an excellent 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 win against Shepparton at Hill Top. This week's match was at Parkland. Results will be in next week's report.
