GOLF Weekly Report 29.12.24
SATURDAY: Despite a good field turning out the final Saturday comp of 2024 produced some solid rather than spectacular scoring.
In A grade Wil Harrison scored another win. Playing off a handicap of 14 (and steadily coming down) Will had 37 points to get across the line by one shot from Peter Blackmore with 36 points.
Gavon Armstrong also carded 37 points and was a two-shot winner in B grade from Rob Geisler with 35 points.
Jan McHale as the ladies’ winner with 36 points from Bev Lyon who had 34 points and nudged out Trudy Denham in a countback for runner up.
Trudy led the list of ball comp winners with 34 points which was a popular score with Alan Hausler, Ron Dixon, Gary Ward and Glen Laity all taking home balls with that number while Jack Hammond and Jeff Carnie also won balls with 33 points.
Nearest the Pin trophies went to Mick McAuliffe (A grade 3rd), Paul Kuiper (A grade 12th), Geoff Strachan (B grade 12th) and the voucher on the 15th was won by Bev Lyon.
TUESDAY: There were some good scores on Christmas Eve with Kevin Humbert the A grade winner with 38 points from Ashley Kuiper with 37 points. Ash up the runner’s up trophy in a countback from Daryl Harrison.
Lindsay Tatterson has been in good form lately and he put together the day’s best score of 39 points to take out B grade by one point from Geoff Strachan with 38.
Ball winners were Daryl Harrison (37 points), Jeff Carnie (36) and Kelly Cheong (34).
Mick Gallivan (A grade 3rd) and Mick Cromie (15th) took home Nearest the Pin trophies.
