GOLF Weekly Report - 19.1.25
SATURDAY: Scoring was much better in this week’ Stableford event which was dominated by the Browne family with Steve taking out A grade with 39 points, but not before he survived a three-way count back which saw Glenn Laity as the runner and up from Lawrey Casey who finished with a ball in the ball comp.
In B grade, Steve’s son Corey made it a double for the Browne family with a one shot win with 38 points narrowly avoiding what could have been a four-way countback.
As it was Jeff Carnie won the countback for the minor placing with 37 points from Geoff Strachan and Des Partington.
Helen Armstrong had a bit more wriggle room with a four shot buffer as she took out the ladies’ event with the excellent score of 39 points. Von Morris was the runner up with the score of 35 points.
Along with the previously mentioned Lawrie Casey, Des Partington and Geoff Strachan, other ball winners on the day were Paul Kuiper with 37 points, Alan Hausler with 36 points and Gordon the Golfer Mackay, also with 36 points.
