On what may be a prelude to summer a good field hit the greens on Saturday.
Bev Lyon led the ladies with a net 76 to edge out Tracey Wade with net 78.No nearest the pin n the ladies.
In the men’s round 2 of the club championships ,you might say the moving round, saw a win in A grade to Gordon “the golfer ‘Mackay with net 70 from Kelly Cheong on 71 net.
Nearest the pins went to Miles Gould and Dylan Gallivan.
B grade went to Lindsay Tatterson, stepping up a notch, with net 70 from one of the raiders Jeff Carnie on 74 .Lindsay keeps bobbing up every now and then ,must be the coaching of “Pooch”.
Laurie Radley snared a nearest the pin and Gordon “the Golfer” took the voucher for nearest the pin on the 15 ,bit of a day our for “the golfer “
Balls down the line went to Kev Bauerle 72, Kevin Humbert 75,Mick McAuliffe 75,John Burrows 75, Ash Kuiper 76, David Collins 76,Frank Broucek 76 and Ian Rathjen 76.
Tuesday’s event saw the wandering President Mick McAuliffe win the stableford with 39 points from a 3 way countback with Graeme “henry buck” Harrison ,Steve Piggot and Kelly Cheong on 38.
B grade saw young Les Hall salute on 39 points from another youngster Geoff ‘in form “Squires on 38 .Ron Dixon was the only player to hit the green to claim a nearest the pin.
Balls went to Steve Piggott 38 ,Kelly Cheong 38 ,Peter Blackmore 36,Paul Kuiper 36 and Gary Jury 33.
Now to the big stuff
After round 2 of the championships Ash Kuiper on a gross of 159 has a 2 shot buffer from Kelly Cheong on 161.
Jeff Carnie leads B grade on Net 148 from John Burrows and Paul Dickens on net 151 .
That name Kelly Cheong keeps popping up as it did to take the Gold watch sponsored by Kyabram for best net score after round two. Another pop up name David Collins was runner up on Net 143.
The budding champs will be limbering up for the final round next week but watch out for the coming bunch.
