BOWLS Weekly Report 2/2/25

MIDWEEK PENNANT

With only two matches remaining we travelled to play third placed Deniliquin RSL. Bev’s rink managed to score shots on 7 ends and found the Deni team far too experienced going down 31 to 8.

Jenni stepped up to skip for her team and did a mighty job holding the lead by 3 shots on the fourteenth end. The Deni team played some great bowls after that picking up 20 shots to Valley Views 1 over the remaining 7 ends to claim the win 32 to 17.

The team led by Helen Emery were within striking distance of their opponents only being 4 shots down on the sixteenth end. The Deni team picked up thirteen shots to three on the next 5 ends closing out the match 28 to 14.  Overall result to Deniliquin RSL 91/39.

Next weeks match is at home against fourth team Rich River.  Good bowling to all.

SATURDAY PENNANT

Hosting third placed Lockington our Valley View team came away with a win on the team led by Ken Black and his rink over K Stouts rink 19 shots to 14.

Rod Donohue played the rink led by C Felmingham and went down by 13 shots to 26.

Graeme Topp up against S Felmingham and his team  lost 10 shots to 22.

The overall was a win to Lockington 62 to 42.

This Saturday is the last match for the season and we are travelling to Rich River who sit just above us on the ladder. Good luck and let’s hope for a great finish.

A reminder for all bowlers that there is an important bowls meeting on Tuesday night February 11 at 7.30 at the Clubhouse, to discuss the upcoming season for next year. Hope to see you all there.
