BOWLS REPORT 10/11/24
MIDWEEK BOWLS
As we had the bye for Melbourne cup, there are no pennant results for last week.
We did host a 60 and over event on Thursday where we enjoyed an excellent day of bowling with 12 teams entering.
Our match this week is over at Rochester, followed by another away game at Echuca.
Good bowling everyone.
SATURDAY PENNANT
Up against ladder leaders Moama Steamers on their home greens was going to be a difficult task. Although we went down by 20 shots 67 to 47, our individual team efforts weren’t that far away.
Team 1 led by Graeme Topp with Dave Clavell, Frank Findlay and Lenny Wiseman played W Wadge’s team and went down by 10 shots 22 to 12.
Team 2 skipped by Rod Donohue, with Ken Hastie, Bob Greenaway and Alf Soden had the closest match with M Daly and his team. Just falling at the last by 3 shots 23 to 20.
Team 3 led by skip Ken Black and his team of Kevin Broadhurst, Tim Robertson-Skevington and Rob Varcoe played B Barbary and his rink and were down at the end of play by 7 shots 22 to 15.
Next weekends match is away again against Lockington who sit in fourth place.
Good luck.
