Weekly roundup 3rd Sept 22
Stableford
The combination of smaller fields (on both Tuesday and Saturday), football finals and my hectic Father’s Day schedule makes for a shorter than usual column this week.
There was short about Peter Blackmore’s round on Saturday though as he produced one of the best Saturday Stableford scores for some time with 44 points.
In a one grade field, that gave him a comfortable five shot buffer from runner up Pooch McHale who finished 39 points.
Jenni Bauerle was the best of the ladies with 34 points recording a one-shot win from Sharon Harrison with 33 points.
Ball comp winners were Gordon Mackay and David Collins with 36 points each and Craig Larcombe and Alan Hausler with 35 points in a count back from Kevin Bauerle and Johnny Heywood.
Pooch won the voucher on the 15th but with a swirling wind prevailing no one could find the green on the 3rd or 12th holes though Kelly Cheong was desperately unlucky not to claim a nearest the pin ball on the 3rd with the very last shot of the day finishing centimetres off the back of the third green.
Tuesday’s foul weather caused the coring of the greens to be delayed which enabled a handful of hardy souls to take to the course with Daryl Harrison taking the chocolates with 34 points in a count back from Geoff Strachan while Mick McAuliffe won the nearest the pin ball.
The deferred Monthly Medal round will be played this week
