Weekly Golf Report 17/3/24
SATURDAY: The consistent Brad Edwards picked up the win he missed out on last week in Saturday’s Stableford event posting a round of 38 points off a handicap of 13 and securing a two-shot win in A grade from Peter Mangan.
Mangan put together a round of 36 points from the same handicap.
It was also a two-shot margin in B grade; Alan Curnow putting together the day’s best score of 39 points in a welcome return to form for the Sledge King.
Ron Dixon was the man two shots back finishing as runner up with 37 points.
Judy Greer won the ladies’ comp with 33 points with another two-shot margin from Wendy Cox with 31 points.
Balls went to Kelly Cheong, Lawrie Casey, Geoff Squires, Jeff Carnie and Peter Shermann all with 35 points.
Rushworth’s Tony Geister (A grade) and Alan Curnow (B) cleaned up the Nearest the Pin trophies on both the 3rd and 12th for both grades, Wendy Cox won the NTP for the ladies on the 3rd and the voucher on the 15th went home with Jeff Carnie.
TUESDAY: The two- shot margin trend started earlier in the week on Tuesday with Daryl Harrison, playing off a nine handicap, putting together a round of 38 points to take the spoils from Peter Blackmore with 36 points.
Balls went to David Collins, Alan Hausler and Nobby all with 35 points and Jeff Carnie picked up the Nearest the Pin ball on the 3rd.
This week is our Opening Day with the traditional Mixed Pinehurst Medley along with a Stableford event for the bachelors that can’t find partners. The day will kick off at 11am with a BBQ lunch, registration at 11.30am and tee off at midday.
Sunday is the Ern Healey which also starts with a BBQ lunch at 11am. The event for the day is a 4BBB Stableford, for which bookings are essential (text to 0408 369 705). Further details are on our Web Site and Face Book page.
