Mens & Ladies Weekly Golf Report - 7.4.24
Pooch McHale shrugged off the bruising and battering from a recent heavy fall to take out the April Monthly Medal at the weekend.
“The Curmudgeon” was at this best with an excellent round of 79-10-69 and he took out A grade (and his first medal in just over two years) from Miles Gould who also had a very good round of 80-9-71.
Last week’s B grade runner up in Jonty Sefton went one better this week with a round of 91-19-72 which saw him shed another shot from his handicap and next week he will make his A grade debut.
Alan Hausler (96-19-77) and Peter Sherman (100-23-77) both finished five shots adrift with Haus taking out the count back for runner up.
The potential for rain and storms saw our ladies boycott the event so we go to the ball comp which saw balls go to Peter Mangan (74), Graeme Harrison (74), Kevin Bauerle (75) and Stephen Brown with Nett 76.
Pooch and Jonty both took home the best gross scores balls and the club had a good day on the par three holes with only Brendan Cornwell winning a Nearest the Pin trophy with an excellent tee shot on the 3rd hole.
On Tuesday Wil Harrison kicked off the school holidays with his first A grade win with 38 points from Kelly Cheong (runner-up) and Bud Thorsen with 33 points each.
Wil also hit the green on the 3rd to take home the A grade NTP ball.
In a low scoring affair Alan Hausler took out B grade by the same margin (5 shots) from Steve March who was the runner up with 30 points in a four way count back from Nev Vicary, Ron Dixon and Peter Sherman.
Jeff Carnie won the B grade NTP ball.
Balls went to Bud Thorsen (33 points), Daryl Harrison (32) and Graeme Harrison (32).
Just a reminder that the Tuesday times are now assembly at 1030am for an 11am hit off.

LADIES WEDNESDAY REPORT: Last Wednesday's Stroke and Putting competition for the Monthly Medal was sponsored by our generous supporters, Work Wear Connect.
Tracey Wade returned the best score of the day, 93-18-75, to win A Grade in both nett and scratch and to secure the Monthly Medal.
A three way count back was needed to decide the runner up in A Grade. Jenni Bauerle, 95-16-79, took the win from Leanne Busch, 94-15-79 and Julie Neale, 101-22-79.
Wendy Cox was the B Grade winner with 111-32-79. A count back was also required in B Grade to decide the runner up. Bev Lyon 109-26-83 had the better back 9 to claim the win from Judy Greer, 108-25-83, however Judy was the Scratch winner.
Our two Grade winners, Wendy Cox and Tracey Wade were Nearest the pin. To complete her successful day, Tracey Wade had the least putts with 26 putts and was the winner of the 3620 voucher.
