BOWLS Weekly Report 9/2/25
MIDWEEK PENNANT
The rink skipped by Bev Lyon with Marilyn West, Kerri Savva and lead Julie Neale acquitted themselves very well against the Rich River team skipped by Rob Thomas.
Starting well and holding a lead of 8 to nothing after 5 ends, and then by 11 to 9 on 13. Rich River then picked up their game bowled well to score 11 shots to the Valley Views team of only 3 to take the match 18 to 14.
Graeme Topp with Ken Black, Nance Saunders and lead Helen Ward started slowly against Allan Linquist and his rink. Having won 5 shots to 15 by the 7th end the Valley View team battled hard to win 7 shots to nothing over the next 4 ends to bridge the gap to within 3 on the 11th. The Rich River team piled on 13 shots to 3 coming home over the remaining 10 ends to take the match 28 to 15.
With Helen Emery skipping for Helen Armstrong, Marlene Topp and lead Rae Hann, and playing Leon Sharp and his team, our girls kept within striking distance after picking up a handy 4 shots on the 10th end to only trail by 1 shot. Unfortunately they picked up only 4 more shots to Rich Rivers 16 over the remaining 11 ends leaving them 13 down at the end of play. 28 to 15. The overall result was to Rich River 74 to 44.
Next week is our last pennant match at Rochester.
Let’s finish the season on a good note. Good luck.
