Ash Kuiper will take a one-shot lead into the third and final round of the club championships next Saturday.
After he and Miles Gould both shot excellent scores last week, they both struggled in the second round with Miles making up two shots with a round of 83 after Ash shot 85 off the stick.
They would appear to be the only realistic contenders with Dylan Gallivan the next best placed, eight shots behind Ash with a two round gross total of 168.
Kelly Cheong (170 gross) will make up the final group that will tee off at around 1220pm
The race for the A grade handicap title though is really up for grabs with five players all within four shots of each other.
Those five players are Mick Gallivan (Nett 146), Miles Gould (Nett 147), Graeme Harrison and Peter Noble (both Nett 148) and Ash Kuiper (Nett 150).
In B grade Alan Hausler will take a one-shot lead into the final round with a two round net score of 149.
He will be joined in the last group by Ron Dixon (150), Ian Scurrah (151) and Gavon Armstrong (156).
To Saturday’s results and Daryl Harrison took out the A grade event with an excellent round of 81-10-71 finishing two shots ahead Graeme Harrison with 90-17-73.
Daryl also picked up the A grade NTP ball on the 162m par three 12th with a very accurate tee shot to within four feet of the pin before cleaning up for a birdie.
B grade was dominated by two junior members with Jonty Sefton notching up his first win with a round of 98-29-69 taking the honors in a countback from Wil Harrison who had a round of 92-23-69.
Those two boys will also slug it out for the Junior Champion title next week with Wil holding a one- shot advantage after two rounds.
Tracey Wade was a one-shot winner in the ladies’ event with a round of 93-20-73 and Sharon Harrison was the runner up with 98-24-74. Tracey also won the ladies NTP ball on the 12th.
Ball comp winners were Paul Kuiper (Nett 74), Pooch McHale (74), David Collins (75), Gordon Mackay (75), Nat McAuliffe (75), Clare Kerr (75) and Von Morris (75).
Ash Kuiper and Brendan Cornwell picked up the NTP balls on the 3rd while the voucher on the 15th was won by Kelly Cheon.
